Artist in Residence - Week long personalized program - On The Road Workshop -

The artist-in-residence program aims to empower individuals embarking on a personal clay sculpting journey, igniting their unique creative essence.

Participants engage in an immersive hands-on experience within a well-equipped sculpting studio, offering a dedicated workspace, essential sculpting tools, and expert guidance. Led by professional sculptor Joel A. Prevost, you will immerse yourself in a welcoming environment that nurtures growth and skill development.

Applicants are encouraged to share their project proposals via email to begin their sculpting adventure.



Artist in Residence / AIR Program

We offer different formats of the AIR Program. Find one to suit your needs. Week-weekends or residency

The residency program is customized for seasoned professionals and aspiring artists aiming to enhance their sculpting techniques. Sculpting as a Lifestyle specifically caters to individuals seeking a break from the digital world. Step into the studio, a haven designed to renew and inspire your artistic journey.

Cost:

- Half-Day Session (3 hours): Studio space $105.00 + 1/2 hour private instruction $45.00 + GST.

Total tax incl.: $157.50 per session.

- Full-Day Session (6 hours): Studio space $135.00 + 1-hour private instruction $90.00 + GST.

Total tax incl.: $236.25 per session.

- Consultation or Studio Session: A 1-hour session with instruction: $90.00 + GST.

Total: $94.50 per hour.

Please note that sessions cannot be divided.

The fee excludes materials, which will be calculated based on each project.

Artists are encouraged to present their project idea, including:

- Inspirational drawings or photographs

- Work dimensions

- Personal goals

- Sample photographs of past work

Sessions are scheduled monthly in advance. Participants receive monthly invoices for pre-payment.

Additional private instruction is available to deepen technical expertise at $90.00 per hour."

The Artist in Residence program aims to enhance artists' skills and creativity.


Week or Weekends Residency

This program is ideal for people wishing to work on an individual project in a relaxed environment, while still receiving hands-on instruction as necessary, to succeed with your project.

The VIS studio will design a plan for the residency with the participant. The participant must sign a letter of agreement that includes the project.   

Professional sculptor Joël A. Prévost teaches the techniques and use of tools necessary to sculpt a free-standing sculpture of a life model, taking you step by step by adding, subtracting coring, and burnishing.

This is a 30 hour training that can be realized as a one-week or a 2-weekend residency. 

A 30-hour residency is $1,280. + GST.  ($1,344.00)

The fee does not include materials, and kiln firing, which will be estimated for each project.

Please note a 30% non-refundable deposit will be required.


 AIR Program Cancellation Policy:

- Once an appointment is scheduled with the VIS Studio instructor, dedicated time is set aside exclusively for you.

- If you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours notice before the scheduled time, a penalty fee of $50.00 will be applied.

- To avoid the cancellation fee, please provide a cancellation notice at least 2 days prior to your appointment.
